What colleges to look at?

Hi I'm actually new here but I'd really like all of your help in deciding what to do.

So I'm a rising junior and these are my classes:
AP US History
AP Physics B
AP Stat
Honors Math
Honors English

(Should I apply for more classes? Even electives maybe?)

I get straight As, and excel in my classes. For example I got a teacher's award for math that was only offered to 4 students of one grade (we have a big school btw).

I do two sports water polo and swimming, JV but 6 days a week for two hours.
(Does JV count on college apps? Cause I heard it was varsity that mattered, but our school has a good team and I can't make it. I'll reconsider my junior year, and I guess I can switch sports to more classes...)

I'm planning on taking these senior year:
AP Economics
AP Pysch
AP Math
AP Physics C
AP English

(Do they look at your senior year courses if you apply early though?)

I don't have too many ECs cause of sports and homework
I'm on the debate team and we compete (hopefully this year I'm gonna make nationals).
President of the district student advisory board
Probably about 200 hours of volunteering
Next summer I'm going to volunteer overseas (I love going to new places and I thought it would also help my college app?) for a month and a half

Oh and I think I'm first generation. So what are my chances? and thanks!

idk your stats (SATs/ACT or gpa) but from this rigor of courses and ECs, you can probably make it into almost all UCs and maybe some lower ivies… You’re ECs are a little weak, but other than that you are fine.

PS: making it to nats is way harder than you think. idk where you’re from but normally only the top 2 teams of your district will make it…coming from a fellow debater who made it to semi’s in SoCal region nat quals…

I’m in the same boat as you kind of, I’m a rising senior, first gen, 3 sports (all 3 Varsity), straight As (with I think 3 B+s throughout high school). However, I have managed to join and be really active in 4 clubs. Try to join a club or EC that you’re interested in and don’t use sports as an excuse :stuck_out_tongue: Clubs will show colleges that you can balance your time and also do something outside of just school and sports. If you want advice feel free to PM me, I’d be willing to give you tips, ideas, or anything :)
