What counts as an EC?

<p>When the apps ask you to list your ECs, exactly what counts as an EC? Do academic teams (math team, etc.) count? What about volunteer work done in the school?</p>

<p>Any activity that 1) you regularly do (no single events, etc.), and 2) has significance (not feeding your pets, etc.). Academic teams and volunteer work are definitely ECs.</p>

<p>I have a question... what if I volunteered, but.. want to mention that I was captain of several cancer-fundraising-event walks? Should I mention that in the first place...? I know that it counts as an "event," but I've done several and I was chosen out of a lot of other volunteers to be captain, so it sort of shows my leadership abilities and such. ... =/</p>
