What Degree/Career fits me? Alternatives.

Hey,
I am a high-school senior planning to graduate Spring 2008.
Over the past year I have been investing in the stock market, and have really enjoyed it. And made some money as well.

I am thinking about getting a bachelors in finance.
What degree(s) would you recommend? - I am not looking for the best colleges, I do not have the brains/money to get into the top tier colleges. (3.3 GPA 26 ACT). I want to get a good education in the market. (The way the market works, Company financial analysis etc).

Also would you recommend a small private school (2-4k), or a moderate to large one?

My parents will pay for my first two years of college, after that I'm on my own.

What are my different career choices? And places to research them. (Pros Cons)

I am looking for any suggestions/hints that will help. I have a way to go before I land my first job out of college but want to be heading in the right direction.

Thanks for anything you can contribute.

-Phil

What about investing in the stock market do you enjoy?
Is it the risk? Or is it the ability to analyze data and then to see if your analysis on a stock worked out?
If you're set on a career in finance and nothing else matters in your evaluation, apply to schools based off of their business school, their job placement, and what type of market they are located in (Ex. New York is a large market meaning there is more opportunity, at least in the beginning). Outside of the most prestigious of LACs, you'll likely have a somewhat easier time getting an interview if you come from a bigger school with a more established alumni network and reputation (large state school perhaps). That doesn't mean you shouldn't look at a Liberal Arts College, however, if your main focus is job placement, a larger school (again outside of the most prestigious LACs) will tend to give you a larger marginal benefit in the internship/interview process.

This might help provide you with more information on which specific schools you may want to check out. (Use the college matchmaker function.)
