What did you all think of October 15th 2008 PSAT?

How hard did you think the PSAT was today? What do you think the curve might be? I know of 3 math questions that I got wrong, I hope I'm not screwed for that. I thought the sections seemed kind of hard besides writing...

I am indifferent. I skipped about fifteen questions, to which I am unsure was a good idea or bad idea, and probably missed some. Overall, I think I did well. The critical reading and writing were so-so to hard for me, but the math was rather easy.

The shaded hyperbolic curve inscribed in the square screwed me up on the math section.
~_~

^ o yea..it was actually easy..but i needed time..so i skipped that one..

The hyperbolic curve was confusing mostly because I did not understand what it meant by its centers being on the points A, O, and B.

I got 18 for that one.

^Same here...I actually thought it was easy. :)

Well it turned out that you could just kind of look at it and divide it into 4 parts and see that it was half of the area of the square. Of course I noticed that after doing 2 minutes of calculations. :P

I always liked analytical geometry over plane geometry. :x

How many questions did everyone skip?

I didnt skip any

The writing section was pretty straightforward. The critical reading was slightly harder. The math was average- maybe the last few questions of the written response were tricky.

I have a question. In the Japanese artist passage, what did she mean by "cast"ing a shadow?

putting forth or foreward

I put "put forth" for that one I think.

Guys, bad idea or good idea to skip questions? o.o

I thought the second critical reading section was easier than the first.

Skipping depends on whether you're aiming for high 700s/800 or not.

A few math questions...

the one about "the number of 3 digit numbers that have the odd numbers less than 6 as their digits"- did it say that they couldnt repeat? I put 6 and now I realize that it was probably 12 :P

and the one about the volume of the cut up box- 112?

and the last question-75<x-2/3<76. What's a possible value for x-2/6?

Is it any number between 37.5 and 38?

^ for the first, I put 27. Their digits could repeat.

112 is right.

all numbers between 37.5-38 are correct.

EDIT: I got that shaded conic one wrong (just kinda guessed) and the cube one wrong. :(

@xatuuatx:

I got 112 for the cut up box.

I put 37.7 for the one with the x-2/6 is less than thing in the math part.

The 3 digit numbers: I got 27, because the first digit is 5 or 3 or 1, same for the 2nd digit and the 3rd.
