What did you use to study for writing?

Hey you guys i want a 700-750 in writing and currently, I'm in the 690-700 range. I really want to increase it. What do you guys use to review your concepts? Did use Silverturtle's grammar guide? Sparknotes?
Please help

Bump

please help :(

I was same as you and managed to really increase my score by preparing my examples and key phrases in advance. Plus, you just have to learn vocabulary or roots… And most of all… PRACTICE!!!

Well, I’m not in the 700+ range. But, I received a 500 in writing on the May 2010 SAT. I now have a 650-700 score in writing. I practiced A LOT. You start to pick things up easily. I never read a guide or anything.

I used my head. I can frequently take an SAT test and get 0 or 1 writing questions wrong.
I’m the type of the person who rages when I see people say “your” instead of “you’re” and I go insane when I see/hear a split infinitive.

Split infinitives are not real errors :P

They are too!

Check on silverturtles guide if you dont believe me :{

i used a book that really helped me: 5 SAT writing practice tests

I used BB, PR, Kaplan Premier SAT, Kaplan SAT Advanced, McGraw Hill, Barrons, Random Chinese books, etc… But no, you don’t need a lot of books; I just bought them for the practice tests lol.

Anyways, if you’re taking the Oct. test, there’s really not much you can do now since the test is like less than 2 days away (god I’m freaking out now). I did what everybody else did: I practiced A LOT. I usually get under 2 mistakes on writing sections but when I started preparing for the SAT, I almost never got under 3 mistakes and thought that getting some of the questions right required a lot of luck. After a while you start to see that there are only so many kinds of questions on the SAT and you’ll start to pwn them after doing a certain amount of problems. That is, of course, unless the essay is what you’re worried about.
