What do they. I mean, you don't always know the words, right? What are good strategies when you don't know the word, you have 2-3 remaining options, and you pretty much don't have a clue.

check parts of speech, follow your gut instinct

a lot of the time, you can pick apart some of the words based on their latin and greek roots or because they are part of a paradigm

For myself, I have positive and negative emotional reactions to abstract concepts like words, numbers, colors, shapes, etc. and that helps me pick sometimes :p

I close my eyes and randomly picks a spot on the sheet. The finger closest to the option is the one I pick.

what would be the best book to study these?

I'd say r3n SAT 2401

webster's pocket dictionary

jk, just try to eliminate the words that definitely don't match in the context. i got 760 cr but everything right on sentence completion.

lol I like r3n's SAT 2401 book..it helped me get that 2401.

Anyway...do a search on google for latin and greek roots

yeah, the dictionary will definately help. Just try to cover around 50 pages per day and you will do fine

I tried eliminating words that I knew were definitely wrong. After those I would say the sentence in my mind and see which one sounded better...yeah, that worked for me

i get my cell phone out and go to dictionary.com while the lady isn't looking...

;) or actually I just guess and hope this is the time I get an 800...still hasn't happened.

Both times there has been one word I had never seen before, but was able to know for sure I picked the right answer by eliminating obviously wrong choices using context clues. So, even if I didn't know the word in the question, I could figure out if the words in the answer choices worked.

ask the person next to you

^ lol. I did that (I was caught too)

BTW:
Why would a person with an 800 in CR even pay attention to CR. 800 is the max, right?

Roots, like everyone else said.
Determine whether it sounds positive or negative.
