Hello everybody, I would like to know what do admission officers look for in international applicants.
Do they have different criteria for international applicants as compared with domestic applicants?
I would appreciate your help a lot.

Most universities allocate students into different "pools" during the admissions process. International students are all put into the "international pool".

This means that international applicants, like you, have to compete against other international applicants. Hence, as an international student myself, I would recommend you emphasizing personal qualities other than your "internationalness", as all the other applicants have the same quality.

I am not saying that you should not mention your life as an international student on the college applications, but it would be advisable to put a blend of your own unique personal qualities as an international student.

I hope this helped.
