Just out of curiousity, say if two students in the same round of applications both submit similar essays, what would the college do? Would they reach out to the students asking for proof, or just reject them both automatically?
Why would a college go to the trouble of trying to find out which applicant plagiarized their essay? There are plenty of other applicants to choose from. Did you show your essay to another student? If so and you think they’re going to use your idea, toss it and start over.
Right. One gave the essay away and the other took it; both are guilty.
Plenty of other applicants from which to choose. Why accept someone who has cheated before even being accepted?
OP, go write another essay that is completely different. The fact that you’ve asked this question suggests that you’ve shared your essay with a friend.
