I'm not sure what looks good on college applications. I know that colleges look at GPA, extracurricular activities and SAT/ACT scores, but else do they evaluate for each student? What extracurricular activities tend to look good when applying, or what do they expect from the student in that activity? Is there anything else they expect on the application that isn't required, but looks good?

Thanks

It depends on the college, but most top colleges want students who are passionate about a few certain extracurricular activities and demonstrate those passions through excellence. There’s a lot of other stuff involved in admissions, like course rigor, SAT II scores, letters of recommendations, essays, volunteering, etc.

Read some posts from the College Admissions forum to get a better idea of what colleges want: <a href=“Applying to College - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/

A good read of the posts already out there is in order. They look for students who make use of already available resources-something you are not shinning at yet.
