What do colleges think if they can't see an exam score accompanying an AP course?

So, I plan on taking 3 AP courses over the summer after my Junior year to boost my weighted GPA. The problem with this plan is that I won’t be able to take the AP exams in time for colleges to see the scores because I would be taking the exams in May towards the end of my Senior year. Is this a big issue? Will colleges not think highly of the A’s if there are no exam scores to accompany them? Should I take an extra AP course during this upcoming school year instead of during next summer so I can take the AP exam in time for colleges to see the result? This would definitely add pressure to my Junior year but I’m pretty sure I would be able to do it. Thanks!

They don’t care.

AP scores are not used for admission.

Haha I’m fairly certain this question came across every AP student at one point thinking “wait, why am I taking AP exams months after I get a decision notice from college?”

These are part of senior schedule. Of course taking AP classes will increase the rigor of your Senior schedule thus attracting the eyes of universities who look at your application. However, they don’t expect to see AP scores. AP scores are such a small part of your application that I wouldn’t worry about gathering as much AP scores as possible. Besides, if it adds pressure to your Junior year, then I would lay off the extra AP and focus on whatever you’re already planning on doing. Keep up those extracurriculars, grades, and SAT/ACT scores!

The primary purpose of taking AP courses is for schedule rigor. The scores, while important for college credit and placement into more advanced courses, are rarely considered into the equation of acceptance.
