What do I do with my Common App account??

Hi! I’m currently a high school junior who is currently wrapping things up with remote learning. Now that the school year is officially almost over, I wanted to jump ahead and start on my college application, so I created a Common App account a few days ago. I literally spent HOURS filling out all of the personal information details about me and my family and my resume and all that, and even started to brainstorm ideas for the essay prompts.

And then long story short, one of my friends just told me that apparently Common App deletes all existing accounts every summer. And I also believe that each person is supposed to have just one account for their application.

So if I delete my current account and create a new one in August, will that look suspicious? Will I be seen as a fraud or something?

(Side note- I feel like such an idiot for doing this. I should’ve done my research. I hope this doesn’t get me in trouble later on…)

Pretty sure if you go to the Common App website and search ‘account rollover,’ you will find they address this (non-)issue…

This is false. What Common App does is delete certain info off of your schools individual applications on the website when the rollover occurs. This is because schools update the questions and info on their application. What you should do is keep all of your essays and important info in a separate file (google drive, word doc, etc.) so you can copy and paste it back in after the rollover.
No need to make a new account.
