What do i do with my life?!

Wow this is really good advice! Thank you all so much, julliet- I can relate- I’m not an outstanding student, but I’m a hard worker and love to learn, and sometimes I feel like that should count for more than if I can land a perfect score on the SAT or have started a nonprofit organization to put it on an application ( I’m not knocking those at all- people who start organizations and help people who need it are really inspirational, its so much to manage and for a good cause, I wish I could do the same). Does anybody have an other colleges that they think I should look at? In the northeast/ mid atlantic area? Because my parents and I have been making a list of where to visit over April break so I’m trying to decide now.

Holy Cross is expensive but no more than other private colleges. It is #59 on list of most expensive colleges:

^^^

Oh I agree that Holy Cross isn’t more expensive than other privates. I only mentioned the cost because they aren’t generous with merit (as some others are), and Sicilian’s parents may not be aware that privates are now costing $55k per year. She had mentioned that because of her siblings’ school costs, money might be an issue.

Many parents just haven’t been following the rising costs of private college tuition, and many have no idea that room, board, books, etc, can add another $15k+ to the cost. I recently had a neighbor tell me that he thought room and board would be about $2000 a year (a little more than when he went to college! LOL)

.

Ah, I wish room and board was only $2000 a year!

^^^

I know!!!

Many look only at tuition costs and think…“hmmm, that’s not too bad,” without realizing that room, board, fees, books and misc costs can cost so much money!!! Tuition is only about 2/3 of the cost of private schools. yikes!
