That’s a step in the right direction. Follow up. Be proactive and make the appointment. I do think you need to let your parents know about your GPA and the FA situation. But good job talking to your mom. I hope you have also spoken to your academic advisor at school. It’s best to have some idea of what to expect from your college career going forward.
Great step. Have you investigated your schools requirements for a medical withdrawal, whether or not there are time limits, if it can retroactive? Also understanding what kind of documentation you need would be good to know before your appointment.
@Lindagaf my parents have known about my grade/FA situation since I had to withdraw from a class during the semester, and they have been very upset about it. This is another reason I was afraid to bring it up, I didn’t want it to sound like I’m just giving excuses.
I’ve talked to my academic advisor quite a bit about my situation and we discussed plans for both situations (medical withdrawal or not) so I think I’m okay in that area. Thank you for the support and advice!
@NorthernMom61 I have looked into it, I have until the end of the following term (I assume summer if it happened in spring) to withdraw due to extenuating circumstances. I haven’t looked much into the documentation side of things, but I plan on having multiple appointments, so I think that can be figured out as we go. Thank you for your advice!
God luck!
Good luck!
