what do i need to do to get into Harvard?

Be a successful adult film actor…that would seriously improve your chances.

Slap Guy Fieri with a Christmas ham.

Objectives only matter so much. Don’t try and look for a formula, because there isn’t one. Follow your dreams and be passionate about what you do (no, being passionate about getting good grades does not count).

Exactly. Sorry OP, but I think you’re asking the wrong questions.

catachtwentythree said it beautifully.

I doubt that this would automatically get you into Harvard. they would at least check what the student’s like. let’s not give the OP the wrong idea. it’s an amazing boost, and your chances increase, but it’s not like you can slack off all of high school, get a top score, and be set for life. you’ld actually be pretty screwed at trying to succeed at Harvard then anyways

catchtwentythree is right OP. don’t let that make you lose hope though. people learn from their mistakes. I would’ve probably asked the same question 2 years ago xD there was a beautiful thread on the same subject, but I can’t seem to find it :frowning: it’s really old

Actually, when you do push ups, you do push the world down. Given your obvious inability to understand basic Newtonian physics, Harvard ain’t gonna accept you, bud.

/terrible sarcasm.

“I hate to say this, but if you’re asking the internet how you can get into Harvard, you probably won’t get into Harvard.”

If that’s true for any selective college and not just Harvard, isn’t this whole website doomed?
The way college admissions works today isn’t exactly common sense.

Bring dinosaurs back to life using DNA extracts from fossils, publish a paper and a book, become world famous, AND THEN PRAYYYY.

^^specific questions aren’t the same as a general “how do I get in?” or “will I get in?” I hate to be all CC conceited, but the latter implies a lack of confidence and need for shortcuts or at least need for hand holding. the former is simply seeking some needed info.

Get a 38 on ACT (sarcasm)!

Get as close as possible to a 4.0 UW, take as many AP’s as you can while still maintining that 4.0, get 2100+ on SAT’s (people say it’s better to get perfect but people I know who got into Ivies aren’t like that), and be a well rounded person who excels at all their EC’s. Beyond that, it’s a crap shoot honestly. Whether they admit you depends on whether they want you there based on what you have, and there’s nothing you can do to guarantee that they’ll want you there either.

And a 2500 on the SAT
