What do UCLA students do over spring break?

I'm a 1st year and uhhh...long story but I hate coming back home during breaks. I was wondering what UCLA students do over spring break.... even if the dorms stay open, I don't wanna stay at UCLA because I'm pretty sure it will be deserted. Do students ever plan vacations with their friends to go somewhere? I don't know why, but it kinda seems to me like UCLA students like to go home over breaks and see their family and it seems like the school empties out on the weekends (a lot of students go home I think???). I don't know..maybe I just feel that way because my roommates go home every weekend.

But in general what are some things UCLA students do over spring break when they don't go home??? Do you think it would be possible for me to find a group of people to go on a trip with me? It's weird but I don't have one solid group of friends yet. I have a lot of random people I hang out with one-on-one so if I put a group together they would all pretty much be meeting each other for the first time. Any suggestions? Or are there any UCLA activities over the break I could do?

People do all sorts of stuff. There’s really no answer to that :P

Plan a trip to Mexico with your friends.

^^ I was thinking about that too. (I don’t wanna really go home either; parents are so annoying)… I was trying to plan some stuff with my high school friends (which most never pans out anyways), but I found that we have our spring breaks at different times. -__-

You could chill in your dorm spring break, but the dining halls won’t be open. There is Westwood, and you can take a bus to downtown LA or Santa Monica and chill there all day for the week. People will start getting back the Saturday before Spring quarter.
