What do you advise me to do? Helppp

Hello everyone

I am an international student from an underrepresented country -plus I belong to a minority group

I wanted to apply to US Colleges but wondered where I should apply and what my chances are especially that I’m seriously considering top tier schools like HARVARD (well, ivies…)

I am taking the most rigorous courses offered to me, Maths track : Calculus II (equivalent or more advanced than a US AP calculus BC I think, I checked with the programs and found that ours contains more details and some other titles…) , physics , chemistry (advanced) , biology and enviroment , philosophy , 2 foreign languages , geography , religious studies , history

ECs: not so many interesting ones, math competitions, community service, clubs, theatre etc etc (there are not so many options available to me and ECs are not even required in my country for college admission)
Hobbies: reading books, learning languages, meditation…

SAT I 2100
SAT II didnot take but will -soon, tried some practice tests and I can say I can score ~700+ on math level 2 and French language test
GPA 18/20 equivalent to a US UNW GPA of 4.0
Teachers and counselor’s recs: pretty sure theyll make great ones ~no worries
Essay, dunno what to write about, any advice?
Should I go for Harvard or any other ivy?
What are some of ‘match colleges’ to someone with my profile?

Thank you!!

@YaraHee You’ll definitely want to apply to some less-selective schools as well, since Harvard and other Ivies are essentially a crapshoot for the vast majority of applicants.

There are hundreds of colleges and universities in the US alone, and the ideal school for you depends on many factors, so I can’t suggest any with the info you’ve given.

Get in touch with the closest office of EducationUSA https://educationusa.state.gov/find-advising-center The counselors there can tell you where students from your country have been admitted in the past few years and whether or not those students received enough aid to make those colleges/universities affordable.

Your grades and SAT scores are good enough to make you competitive for significant merit-based aid at some places on this list: http://competitivefulltuition.yolasite.com/
and guarantee admission and aid at some on this list: http://automaticfulltuition.yolasite.com/
Check each institution’s website to find out if international applicants can receive this aid.

@MITer94 what are some of these factors? Could you suggest some if I give furthe r information?

@happymomof1 Thank you so much
