what should i do?

Hi,
I'm a rising senior in canada and I'm thinking about going to school in the states. I recently found about things like SATs/APs and so on, and I have absolutely no preparation for any of them whatsoever.
Could any of you point out the most important thing for me to do at this time? such as... prep for SAT or ACT... btw I can't take AP cuz canadian schools don't offer any.

my stats:
96% avg (top 3% in class)
president of fund raiser
concert band
chamber chorus
varsity cross country

I know that's not much extracurricular activity but how's my chance for top tier schools like IVY?

also, does not taking any AP hurt a lot?

there are man kids whos schools dont offer aps. what you should do is take satIIs (a bunch) and maybe study on your own for aps. start studying for the sats asap and take them in october. if you get 2250ish or higher your in great shape for ivys if you cant break 2000 examine your weaknesses and look at the act in november or december. because of your lack of sats i wouldnt apply ED or EA

What's probably going to hurt you for top tiers is your lack of outstanding ECs. For more info, see the EC thread that you can link to from the top of the "chances" forum.
