What do you believe is your ultimate purpose in life?

Do I classify myself as a nihilist, yes? I don’t understand what you’re asking.

To be honest, I’m not really sure we have any greater purpose, as much as it pains me to say that. I feel bad saying that because I’ve always been taught by my church that we do, but I can’t see it.

I think each individual needs to decide what their own purpose is, and for me it’s to be a “good” person and help others out.

I was on wiki, and they were talking about different forms of nihilism, which it said is, arguably, independent philosophies. lol i love wiki.

But different forms included were: moral, existentialist, epistemological, metaphysical, mereological, political…I don’t see why you can’t be more than one of these, though…so I guess you can…

So, how does it feel, feeling like you have no purpose?

I think I phrased this thread wrong. I’m not talking about something philosophical or moral. Basically what I mean is what do you want out of life.

My ultimate purpose in life is to find that PURPOSE. Is it all fate or do I really have free will?

Ah I see. Read up on the wiki page. Based on the ones they stated I am: moral, existentialist, and epistemological. Not believing metaphysical yet.

It’s not all the bad. It gives me a sense of closure I suppose. All those times when I was searching for a meaning, but through experiences those meanings no longer seemed valid. It’s actually quite lovely. idk, I don’t think anyone should blindly believe nihilism though, life can be happier when you feel like you have a purpose.

To be happy.

@meadow36, k I respect that. While I disagree with the philosophy, I certainly understand why people subscribe to it…

Chocolatebanana is gonna be in a nudist swinger colony.

I think a nudist swinger colony would be the absolute last place I would be.

To be happy, through

—finding a fulfilling job
—falling in love, and idc how cheesy that sounds
—raising a family
—traveling
—good food
—always having a purpose…i dont even want to retire.

chocolate gonna be a SAHM that never retires? confused

I’m male…

But yes, I would like a wife and kids.

Oh. nevermind.

But SAHM are da ****.

chocobanana, ill agree with you on that (i think thats part of why i thought you were a girl, i thought i was the only guy that thought that way).

i feel like an old man sometimes when my friends talk about girls because while ill still talk about who i think is hot, most of my friends are out to get laid and im perfectly happy with one girl (and shes definitely not the type ill be getting much from in the near future).

I wouldn’t want my wife to not have work, to be honest…

Yeah…Idk, though I haven’t really had one, I see myself more as a relationship person…

Lulz lotsa sensitive CC souls here!
i want happiness and fulfillment out of life.

Yeah one is definitely better than a playa.

But the girl i get with is gonna have to be a sahm. Hot sahm who does so by choice is boner inducing.

Hmm just to see the other side I suppose(don’t worry I won’t take offense), why do disagree with it?

I would much rather have a wife with ambition, who wanted a fulfilling job.

That’s just more attractive than someone who wants to stay at home…Plus, I’ll probably need the help financially :)

i dont think i would want a sahm for life. it would be fine if she did that when the kids are little, but i would want a girl who will have more eaningful things to talk about than the latest soaps.
