What do you do at orientation?

What does one do at college orientation??? Do all the colleges have different orientation programs? What are some popular activities?? Share some experiences please!!!

Yes, every college is different, but basically it's just a chance for you to meet people and get used to the new school before you start classes. Usually you'll have a meeting with your academic advisor. You'll probaby also have a class-wide welcome thing. Sometimes you'll have lectures and discussions. And most likely there will be fun activities like lawn parties, barbeques, dances. You'll meet your RA and hang out with your neighbors. etc

It's basically meant to make the students comfortable and make new friends, and get familiar with their proffesors, advisors etc. It's filled with fun activities like wacky games, theme nights, parties and free food(:))all week. Most have a 2 day-2 week orientation session. They have campus tours to help locate buildings and classrooms, discover campus organizations, clubs & societies, and leadership programs to join, basically find the answers to all your questions. It's just the beginning of a great new life!
