What do you do for the passages?

This is a poll.

I skip reading and go directly to the questions.

I skim the passage then go to the questions.

I read the passage then go to the questions.

I alternate reading a paragraph, doing the appropriate questions. thanks to Godfatherbob

thanks.
PS: if you pick 1 or 2, please tell me how you tackle the questions that don’t directly deal with “in line…”

I alternate reading a paragraph, doing the appropriate questions.

I scan questions for line numbers, mark the passage where lines are mentioned, and answer the question right after I pass any marks I made.

i will keep an eye on this thread... i need some suggestions :P

I skip the passage if it is NOT figurative or a narrative. Otherwise, I read the passage as quickly as I can.

If the passage is nonfiction or scientific, I read the blurb, then i skip the general questions, and go right to the specific questions.

Either 3 or 4 for me. I've been doing 4 for the last week or so because Barron's 2400 basically recommends that.

Uhhhhh I've been trying out 4, but I usually do 3. However, I think I will probably be sticking with 3, since I like getting the passage done with and then tackling the questions.

Yeah number 5....

hey it gets me my 800s (or atleast 750+ haha)

number 4 .

4 -- it gets me 750+ as well.

tactic #4 is from Barron right ?
Read each paragraph and answer all question within that paragraph

kinda 4.
i basically read first few lines, then go to the questions, then passage.
so kinda 1 in a way lol..

definitely 5.

Wait, how can you answer the questions if you skip the passage? You answer them by common sense or your own opinion? I find that most of the answers are LITERAL in the passage.

^umm you go back to the passage and try to find the answers...

sky high... mark um up... read um ... kill the questions... 800

one by one ...
