what do you do to help you focus?

<p>yeah sometimes I just can't focus on my work, yet I have a lot of work I have to be done with. so how do you help you get focused??</p>

<p>Blow it off and go out drinking with your buddies.</p>

<p>Eat. Go to the library and see all the other people studying. Then get to doing your work. If you find yourself losing focus, then eat some more. Usually my great study food are blueberries. They've got tons of antioxidants so it they're actually supposed to help.</p>

<p>okay. yeah I sometimes I just get up and walk around but usually that still doesn't work</p>

<p>I picture myself failing my classes. That usually gets me going to try and prevent such a thing from happening.</p>

<p>Well, just remind yourself that you'll probably never be in the mood to do your work (I mean, who is?) and that if you do it now, you won't prolong your torture.</p>

<p>ok serious answer: get rid of every distraction near you. it seems obvious but you'd be surprised how much of a difference it makes when you turn the TV/computer off instead of leaving them running in the background, assuming that you will ignore them enough to do your work.</p>

<p>its really easy. When you go home for winter break get a xmas break job in a department store or something similar. Do that for only 3-4 weeks and you'll be dying to get back to college and a ticket out of that world.</p>

<p>I just remind myself there'll be hell to pay if I don't finish my work. Plus I don't get goodnight sleep if I know I have something else to do but didn't. But I try to relax first by drinking tea or coffee. That's it!</p>

<p>listen to some techno or whatever music happens to motivate you. but don't try to do your while listening. take a break and listen to a song or two and then go back and do it but without the music.</p>

<p>And oh yeah, if there's some food I'm craving for at the moment, I'll get it immediately. That way, I'll get rid of all the destructions first.</p>

<p>Check your diet. Make sure you are not drinking soda or anything with a lot of sugar in it before you try to study. </p>

<p>Try to take breaks and walk around (already mentioned but good advice). Stretch out and get the blood flowing, get a drink of water.</p>

<p>If you are having trouble trying to focus on the subject you are working on, try to change it up and work on a different subject. </p>

<p>Complete your easy assignments or studying first to get started. This sometimes helps because you know you can get the easy stuff done, and you get that sense of accomplishment once completed.</p>
