In terms of attractiveness...

I was thinking about good looking actors (actresses, specifically) and I came to a conclusion. After a certain point, the physical looks stop affecting attraction. After that it becomes an amalgamation of the looks and the personality.

I was thinking of a few TV shows, as examples. I'm sure any of you will agree that Olivia Wilde is far hotter than Sarah (who is ****ing hot too) from Chuck or Claire from Heroes. What makes Sarah the most attractive, however, is that she is more outgoing.

So attractiveness can only happen when someone is both hot and has a good personality? Like, to be brutally honest, I don't think someone could be attractive, per se, if she is brutally ugly. However, an ass could be partially attractive if she looks really good. So while both are needed, looks are clearly more important?

I was just using TV as an example--and the personality of the character within the show as the parameter.

It really doesn’t hurt that Olivia Wilde plays a bisexual character.

I wouldn’t put Claire on par with the other 2. And yea, I get what you’re saying.

Man, if we’re going by the characters as they are portrayed on TV, I HATE Claire. In the show, she’s just extremely whiney and she’s such a drama queen. That’s part of the reason why I stopped watching that show. Because every 5 minutes, I have to deal with her crying or getting upset over something stupid.

Anyone here watch Bones? I totally thought David Boreanaz (Booth) was NOT attractive the first time I watched it, but after watching him kick ass in 5 seasons, he is deeeefinitely attractive.

Also think of all the teenage girls who have crushes on Patrick Dempsey (Grey’s Anatomy). And he’s like 40!! So it’s GOT to be personality…

God, Claire is so annoying now. Season 1, not only was she better, but so were other characters and the scriptwriting and directing and the show. Don’t even get me started. Heroes is honestly the show that has sunk to the lowest depths in my opinion…and yet I still watch. I HATE quitting.

Here’s my take (obvious, not revolutionary or anything): You can based on looks alone. But then personality can enhance/detract from hotness/cuteness/attractiveness.

Also, CHARISMA and just BODY LANGUAGE is really important. It’s pretty tough for a photograph to capture that in lots of people, so it’s weird, I think lots of people are hotter when watching a video than a picture…,or in-person versus a pic—although a pic can enhance a person, I suppose.

Okay, this is turning into a ridic long post…I guess I look for personality, with looks as a bonus.

Choco, I COMPLETELY agree with you. I’ve been saying that for such a long time. The beginning of season 1 was actually watchable. But the writing became so bad and it’s become such a corny show with two dimensional characters that are seriously just archetypes now. There’s no depth or personality there. They’re just there to fulfill some cliche.

Anyways, before this turns into a thread about Heroes, I’d say that the girls I find attractive are usually not stunningly beautiful, but are confident and smart, yet not argumentative.

Looks capture the eyes, personality captures the heart.

^cute.

But it made me think about how attractive eyes can be. I’m not even kidding. I have this thing about eyes. HAHAHHA

That being said, personality is still king.

tikiman: not argumentative? are you threatened by a girl’s ability to speak her mind or something? :P

^I assume he meant in the "non-nagging way (as portrayed in tv, movies) instead of the “no women’s rights way”…

Physical:
Tall.
Teeth.
Arms.

Non-Physical:
holds conversations well
isn’t an idiot

You know what’s gross? Those girly-guys or whatever. They’re all like ZOMGAHHSNUGGGLEMUFFINYOUIZSOKAYOOT. IWANTTOEATYOFACE. I find it absolutely disgusting.
Especially when it’s all over facebook like this:
<a href=“Dropout - Independent, ad-free, uncensored comedy | Dropout”>Dropout - Independent, ad-free, uncensored comedy | Dropout;

^I have no idea what that last part even meant.

And teeth meaning…good teeth? and…good arms? hahaha

Heroes is the worst primetime shows I have ever seen. I can’t believe I watched the first three seasons of that bullsh.it. Heroes is a steaming pile of bullsh.it, I can’t stress that enough. I asked myself, after Sylar turned into Nathan after he died or some bullsh.it, “How can this bullsh.it get any worse?” And then Claire goes to college. That’s when I officially stopped watching.

^^^ That’s exactly the reason why I stopped going on FaceBook.
For me, there’s a fine line between being romantic and plain-old creepy.

Why would anyone date someone one with ****ed up teeth and puny arms?

^Exactly…that’s why I was wondering why it even needed to be posted…thought it was a given…well i’m a guy so i don’t really want super musuclar girls, no offense…hahah. Just…normal weight, shorter than me, preferably long hair…brown hair+blue eyes is beastt. but all types of hair/eye color combos can be good…idk…

yeah i guess everyone likes that whole blue eyes + brown hair combo now. i don’t know brown hair and hazel / light brown eyes have always been awesome in my book.

what can i say. i dont ask for much …
