<p>I'm really in a state of confusion right now during the college process, but I'll tell you where I'm at, and tell me what you think, be honest please</p>

<p>Schools: USC, UNC, UCLA, Michigan, UCSD, UCB (stretch), UW (safe), UOregon (bigger safe)</p>

<p>Asian male, highly competitive private, Catholic school in Seattle</p>

<p>SAT I: 1320
SAT II Writing: 680
SAT II Math IIC: 620
SAT II US History: 600</p>

<p>3.702 (unweighted)
18% rank in class</p>

<p>Took fairly rigorous curriculum at school, except science:
Honors English (all 4 years)
Honors Math (all 4 years)
Honors Science (only 1 year)
Honors History (1 year)
- currently taking most rigorous courses offered senior year (5/6 classes are AP or honors)</p>

<p>AP Classes taken:
AP calc (only 3 total offered at school)</p>

<p>National Honor Society
175+ hours of community service (soup kitchen, food/blanket drives, food banks, serving meals to the homeless, working for cancer organizations)
Worked at Safeway during summer
Worked as a paid tutor, and also a volunteer tutor
Class Vice President during Sophomore year
Senior Board Member for St. Vincent de Paul (service organization)
Involved as leader in school activities/retreats (geared toward helping underclassmen)
Knowledge Bowl
Junior Varsity football
4 Academic Letters (out of 4 possible)
intramural basketball
National Society of High School Scholars
Honor Roll at school
National Honor Roll
class rep during junior year</p>

<p>to flopsy, i have great rec(s), and do you think if i combined that with a great essay i have a shot at some of those reaches? i've already applied to washington, oregon, and unc early action</p>

<p>USC: Match/Reach
UNC-Chapel Hill: Reach
UCLA: Reach
UMichigan: Reach (Unless apps were sent in already, then Match)
UC-San Diego: Match/Reach
UC-Berkeley: Reach
UW-Seattle: Match/Safety
UOregon: Safety</p>

<p>Again, just my 2 cents. Just wondering why you are not applying to some private universites and colleges, as the schools that you are applying to are almost as expensive as other private institutions. Anyhow, good luck with your applications. :)</p>

<p>well some of the private universities are really small, and I want a bigger school, which is why USC is pretty unique</p>
