I am planning on majoring in Mechanical Engineering and am considering several schools. Rather than write a thread that compares them all, which inevitably leads to many negative comments about one school or another, I am taking a different approach...

Please tell my why I should go to RPI for Mechanical Engineering. What are the "pros" that make this school the one I should pick over other very good choices?

Well, first off you’d be receiving a quality education from a first rate school. Having compared rpi to other schools, the only school that comes close in my opinion is rit.

The small size was a pro for me. The personalized education you’d get at a small school can be very beneficial.

My daughter is a Bio major. The students are really supportive of each other - not cut throat, like some big schools. There is lots of help available in almost any course. She loves it there. The traditions of a very old school add personality.
