im in 9th grade, i should be in 10th grade. i didn't fail any grades, my mom decided i should redo kindergarten because i wasn't fluent in speaking English. i wanted to skip a grade since 5th grade, it never happened because the principal didn't want me to even thought i was doing 9th grade level on tests, when i was in 6th grade. so then i went trough 7th grade, passing nicely. then for 8th grade i decided to do home-school, i didn't like it but i did fine on it. for 9th grade im doing great so far...school has only been going on for about a month. i want to do the end of the year test for 9th grade and 10th grade because i want to do early start for college, which begins in 11th grade. does anyone have any opinions, about what i should do. i know theirs ups and downs, so i need your opinion.(:

Skipping grades is not something that I would want to do, personally. Is it something that you can do academically speaking? I was testing high in elementary school as well, but, you still need those certain grades to make your knowledge a little bit more solid. Don’t rush to anything because you feel like you should be with your own age-group. Your education is to your current grade standards, current sophomores have had one more year then you in education. Is it fair? No but it is how life is. And if your elementary school principal didn’t want you to do it, she probably shouldn’t do it now. Are you even sure that your current principal or superintendent approve it?

The later you get, the harder it is to skip a grade because of specific material you’ll be missing.
Since elementary school I was practically begging my school to let me skip a grade. I was frustrated and bored, and by fifth grade they had actually run out of content to offer me and I spent 80% of my day doing whatever I wanted (aka reading constantly). I moved after that year, and it took less than a month at my new middle school for them to decide to let me skip 6th grade. They wouldn’t let me skip 2 grades because they were worried about social and age differences.
Anyway, most of 7th grade was somewhat miserable because I switched in partway through the year and everyone already had their friend groups. I do not regret my decision in any way, shape or form.

Skipping in high school is a different ball game, though. You have certain requirements, usually specified by the state, as to what you have to do to graduate. At this point, I feel like it’s less skipping a grade than it is graduating early. I don’t think it would hurt to discuss these options, but I’m not sure how much this would help you at this point.
There are also a few bits of your writing that concern me somewhat, like “i know theirs ups and downs.”
