What do you think about the Second Amendment ruling?

^ me too, but I'm not surprised that they didn't. I think Scalia did a good job with the opinion - he left the door open for incorporation, and definitley ruled out "rational basis" scrutiny. Heller will allow for the overturning of many similar bans on entire classes of weapons, like the Chicago and NYC handgun bans, and the CA "assault weapon" ban. It also seems to strongly rule in favor of open carry, and I believe can be used to further concealed carry as well, despite that annoying statement in the opening pages. All in all, a good opinion.

I'm a liberal and agree with the ruling. People should be allowed to own guns. HOWEVER, I also agree with not allowing felons/mentally unstable people to own guns, and the 10-day waiting period, etc.

Also, I heard on the Colbert Report that in some states fireworks are illegal...I had no idea!! What's 4th of July without fireworks?

I live in Ohio and fireworks are legal to buy but illegal to shoot off (huh?). I think it has to do with fire prevention... People burning down neighbors houses because they are morons.
