What do you think of my college list?

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if they like my college list. I have a 4.00 unweighted GPA and a 4.91 weighted. My class rank is #1 unweighted and #24 weighted, and I've taken almost all honors and AP classes. I have a 31 ACT and my extracurriculars are reasonably good. Here's my list:

Bowdoin
Colorado College
Carleton
Smith
Macalester
Mt. Holyoke
Boston College
Public in-state university

I want a manageable number of applications, so I'm only applying to schools I'm genuinely interested in attending. I think applying to more than 10 schools is ridiculous. Are there any you would suggest I add? Schools I did not like when I visited were Amherst, Williams, Swarthmore, Wellesley, and Vassar. Schools I'm on the edge about applying to are Haverford, Kenyon and Grinnell. Any reason to add them to the list? Oh, and I'm not looking at anything on the West Coast!

Thanks!

Don’t apply to more than 12. This is a manageable list with your stats. I don’t see any reason not to add Kenyon, Haverford, or Grinell. Will they all be affordable? Have you ran NPCs?

I think 8 is a good number. Remember that if you are applying for need based aid, you have to do paperwork and send in tax returns for all of them. Each school has their own schedule for when they want things, their own list of what they want, and varying rules on how they want to receive them. Kind of a headache… that said, I have a soft spot for both Kenyon & Haverford. What is your proposed major?

@intparent I’m not sure what I want to major in yet, but I have definite interests in philosophy, gender/sexuality studies, political science, and English.
