I've had this fairly detailed project in mind since high school that was inspired through my interests and trips around the world. Is it advisable to "propose" my project in my essay and go on to explain how Penn's research/academic/extracurricular opportunities will help me make my project become a reality? Or does that seem slightly presumptuous? I'm afraid my supplement will come across as a research abstract and that they might dismiss it as a premature research topic...

Has anyone done this with their Penn supplement? I know specifics is good...but I can't tell if this particular approach is approriate.
