Lately, many of my friends in high school, college, and those who ended up working for the last few years have been asking me questions about schools that I don't have a great familiarity with.

I've heard about Wittenberg University in the most broad sense, but I'm curious to know if anyone has any impressions they'd like to share. Please feel free to address what you see fit.

Well I really enjoyed my visits to Wittenberg. The campus is beautiful. I really like all the trees and the buildings mix old and new perfectly.

The school really left an impression on me. Whenever I call with questions, I get the nicest people on the phone, and that really matters to me.

It's one of my top two choices. If it was a little closer to home for me, it would be my ONLY choice because I like it so much.

My brother actually graduated from Witt a couple of years ago, and he really loved it. He says that you get what you put into your education there, so, even though it’s not an Ivy League, you can really go far with your education. At the same time, the people there are pretty laid-back. So basically it’s a fun place, but challenging if that’s what you want.

I suppose I might as well add that I’ve been accepted there for next fall, so I might actually be going there! We’ll see…

Congratulations to you too xomandy…Wittenberg is definitely up there for me. In the end, I’ll probably be going wherever I get the best deal though.

holliesue - Here are some of my basic stats:
GPA 4.390
Rank 2/157 (I’m not sure if that’s the exact size of my class)
ACT 33
Extracurriculars include tennis, softball, art club, foreign language club (vp), newspaper staff, various other things including some community service…

I don’t have my stats officially made up, but that’s the general idea. So far, I was offered $16,000, and I was invited to a competition in February for more. In addition, I believe my essay was an important part of their decision because they noted that they enjoyed my essay.

I haven’t gotten my merit package yet, but I’m 230/386, with a 2.97 GPA. crit reading 590 math 650 writing 620. Extracurrics: softball, science team, theatre, community service.

hbeck and xomandy, thanks for the infomation. My d will most likely go where she gets the most merit aid too. She is taking the sat for the first time in January, so we’ll see how she does!
