What do you think?

Do you think this is dishonest or harmful:

I take AP American History, but it took me an average of 2.5 - 3 hours every night to read and do hw. I know 2.5 hours is not a lot, but I still don't have enough time for other courses and ZERO time to study for SAT. In the meantime, I still have to go to sleep at 11:20 (again, I know it isn't too late for you guys), and I can concentrate too well in class the next day because my lethargy. My grade isn't too well either mainly because 1. Lethargy as I said; 2. I have to read a huge chunk of chapters and main informations can't be absorbed.

So, as an experiment, I begin to use these two sites (WikiNotes: 13th Edition) and (Invader's Realm: APUS History Notes) and try to ABSORB all the main points. And this site (Welcome to APNotes.net :: 100% notes, 0% crap) for review before tests and quizzes. Although I never touch my textbook for a few days, MY GRADE IMPROVES, though not dramatically. Most importantly, I got time for other stuff that are also important, such as the SATs and other APs/Hs.

Thoughts?

Haha, yeah, this is pretty much what I did for APUSH last year (erm, well, for the 2nd semester), and it worked out quite well for me (A in class and 5 on test, not *much *knowledge retention for either semesters, but I am wholly apathetic about all the minutiae so that's irrelevant).

As long as you learn the material. Everyone learns differently, which is why I get annoyed when teachers decide to force me to take Cornell Notes when I don't like or need them.

I see no problem. you're learning the material, just from a different source.

^wow, thanks for those websites. I'm taking American Studies I Honors right now and I have to read The American Pageant which is really a bore. Now I won't have to... Thanks. lol :)

Do you know of any helpful websites for AP Statistics?

all I ever did for APUSH was read chapter summaries

So everything thinks it's ok? Good, cuz I always compare this to using Sparknotes for English, which I think it's kind of cheating.

^ I don't know what book you are using for AP stat, or you might try this: Holloman's AP Statistics | Notes

Phew, yeah that textbook was pretty terrible.

I don't think it compares to Sparknotes for English class though. Using Sparknotes instead of actually reading a piece of literature makes you "interpret" the work only through the eyes of the Sparknotes article's opinion. You didn't actually read the information. In this situation, the textbook is not a primary source anyway and is only given to you in an attempt to convey the material. SOoooo your sites are a-okay :]

LOlolol if you find some very nice sites for AP Euro feel free to let me know :] I use some already but they're boring... lol.

...Um, your point? Good job?

Serious epic lulz.

it's not cheating...you just need to be careful..my teacher included stuff from chapters that the quick notes/outlines didn't include.

^yay! those chapter outlines got me a 98 on my first test :)

Anybody got something like this for AP Euro???

You can find Euro at Course-Notes.Org - Outlines, Notes, Vocabulary, Essays, DBQs, Practice Quizzes and much more! |

My APUSH teacher actually compared our outlines to the ones at Course Notes for The American Pageant. Some people copied directly and received a 0 for the assignment.
