What do you want to do at Yale?

Does the major you put down have any effect on your admissions?

I want to major in writing literature (specifically creative writing) and minor in spanish

So, guys…out of curiosity, why Yale?

When I was a senior in high school, colleges called out my name. Every day I’d debate where to matriculate, but every place seemed the same…Yet after I went through the options, only one choice remained. I wanted to hail from a college called Yale…

But, honestly, I’m really curious…haahhaa.

^^ sorry, just burning off nervous energy for this interminable SCEA wait. But have you seen the video to which I referred? It’s pretty cool:
[YouTube - That’s Why I Chose Yale](<a href=“That's Why I Chose Yale - YouTube”>That's Why I Chose Yale - YouTube)

as far as me personally, when I visited campus I came away with the feeling that Yale is where I belonged, it just felt like me. Sorry I can’t articulate it better, I did on my supplement short answer though… :)

Physics and Philosophy

Why Yale? Best dining hall in the world lol.

I loved the yale video.

I saw the video, aaha. <3

What did y’all say for the short answer? (I already turned in my application, so…)

Political science

No it doesn’t. The only thing it might affect is who interviews you I believe

Yale has an amazing viola teacher and the Tokyo Quartet is so awesome so I definitely want to study with them. But at the same time I don’t want to take music history, advanced theory, piano, composition and all those courses required for the major. I’m thinking take music lessons and play in the YSO while pursuing a degree in polisci/international relations.

I put down Humanities as I’m not sure whether I’d like to study Literature or History…I’m very open to other possibilities  (pyschology? film? art history?)

put down engineering, but maybe economics, CS, sciences… kinda undecided

Chemistry and Economics

Physics and Chemistry… might put down that I’m really interested in politics as well though :)

Skull and Bones (jk) ;)

Political Science and Economics, I’ll definitely pursue music and journalism on the side.

I think I put undecided on my app, but most likely will do Environmental Studies.

The reason I chose Yale is rather odd. My friend was gaga over it, and I never saw why. She showed me the “That’s Why I Chose Yale” video, and for some reason it stuck with me. It was a funny video, but it sparked my interest. When doing more searching, I found out that Yale was definitely a school I would love to attend. I have to thank my friend for showing me that video or I might be still thinking nothing of Yale lol.

I’m planning on History and Economics. Woo!

I chose Yale for a few reasons.
A) Harvard sent me junk mail. Princeton sent me junk mail. Yale ignored me completely. And that means it’s totally a challenge.
B) Dick Blumenthal (CT’s junior senator and '72) is a guy that I’ve had the chance to speak with quite a few times. I want to become a Connecticut politician when I’m older, and he raved about Yale. It was pretty convincing.

I got two viewbooks from them… you can have one of mine.
