What does a typical day's schedule look like for you?

For me:

5:30 - 6:00- Wake up and shower
6:00 - 6:15 - Pray/Do last night's homework
6:15 - 7:00 -Take a nap (and MAYBE eat breakfast)
7:00 - 7:15 - Bus ride to school
7:15 - 8:00 - I used to just sit around the lunchroom and do nothing - but now I have class (AP)
8:20 - 3:10 - ~~ SCHOOL ~~
3:10 - 4:30 - Usually after-school class or some club (there's always something)
4:30 -5:00 - Bus ride home or I walk
5:00 - 11:30 - A lovely combination of doing homework/procrastination/youtubing/facebook/study/more procrastination
11:30 - SLEEP (if I get lucky)

It’s going to be totally different next year, but here is the one I had junior year. I had late arrival because I had 1st bell study hall (you have to have study hall at my school for one semester, basically, becuse of reqs like gym, health, and public speaking, and it would actually lower your GPA and rank to take a one semester class because they’re all unweighted).

6:20 on T and TH, 7:00 MWF Wake, take bath, dress,
7:30-8:20 T &TH: Tutor
8:20-2:30 School
2:30-4:00 M&W: Quiz Team Practice. Some W’s it’s 2:30 - 6:00 if we have a game
2:30-4:45 T, TH, F Bus home, Chill at home then get ready for dance
5:00-7:30 T, TH, F Ballet
Whenever I get home - 12:00 (goal time, before 3:00 is acceptable, around 2:00 is usual) Homework/Procrastination

This schedule differs a lot. Eg: In winter, I ski from 2:30-9:00 once a week, so I do ballet on Monday with Quiz Team practice. Saturday schedule has 2 hours of tutoring 9-11, then sometimes a short break, sometimes volunteering, then ballet for 3 hours.

For me, sophomore year:

6:00-6:30 - Wake up, shower, get dressed.
6:30-7:00 - Breakfast
7:00-7:05 - Get to school
7:05-7:30 - Do some homework that I didn’t finish the night before/listen to music/talk in the library
7:30-7:55 - Continue doing homework, or go to Math Team, French Club, Habitat for Humanity, or Newspaper (depending on the day).
7:55-2:26 - Schooool
2:26-2:45 - Do more homework, chill, or go Literary Magazine meeting (if there is one)
2:45-2:55 - Get changed for XC, Tennis, or Track.
2:55-4/5/6:00 - Sports (depending on which one; meets/matches will go to 7 or 8:00)
6:00-7:00 - Dinner
7:00-12:00 - Homework (sort of)
12:00-1/2:00 - Shower, brush teeth, browse the Internet, and wonder why I can’t fall asleep
2:00-3:00 - Hopefully fall asleep

are you guys in school right now? or is this a typical school year day schedule?

REPEAT!

Hmmm well i guess i a little abnormal

7:40 -2:20 School
2:45 Get Home
2:45 - 3:30-4:00 Take a break

7:00 - 10:00 Study for any tests and quizzes or do projects
10:00pm -7:00 am Sleep

Yea my life is boring, but my high school was really hard… All ECs were done on the weekends (volunteering).

How do you guys survive on less than 8 hours of sleep?!

Yeah, waking up is pretty hard. Sometimes, if I am lucky I can get to bed by 11:00, but it’s rare. A few times last year I fell asleep doing homework at like 8:30 PM, and then woke up at like 7:00 AM to scramble to finish it. lol. I get so tired sometimes, especially during soccer season. I am going to try to get more rest this year, but I doubt it with college applications.

Finals was hell. My sleeping pattern was horrible :frowning: I would go to sleep at like 4:30 am wake up at 6:30 am and then when I got home from school, i’d sleep until like 10 pm and then study…and after finals were over, i couldn’t go back to normal for like a month :/

projected …

6 - wake up & shower
6:30 - leave for school
7-12:30 - school
1-5 - nap time

then eat/tv/pretend study/CC/phone

11 - sleep.

=]

How do you ever get 8 hours? For me, above 3 hours is good, 6 hours is a miracle, 8 hours means I fell asleep when I got home at 3 and have just woken up at 11 PM with tons of homework to do.

I woke up at 3:30 pm today…

Projected for junior year:

6:20AM-7:00AM - Get ready, eat breakfast, shower etc.
7:00AM-7:20AM - Wait for ride
7:20AM-7:30AM - Ride to school
7:30AM-7:45AM - Hang around school before it starts
7:45AM-2:30PM - School
(If Robotics)
2:30PM-7:00PM - Robotics (during our build season)
(If Science Olympiad)
2:30PM-4:00PM - Science Olympiad meeting/practice
(If Math Team)
2:30PM-4:00PM - Meeting (meets go till 6)
5:00PM-6:00PM - Dinner (usually)
6:00PM-11:00PM - Homework/Procrastination
11:00PM - Sleep

I agree with Millancad, how DO you get 8 hours of sleep. I feel perfectly fine with 6 hours and by the end of the year, I’m adjusted to 3 or 4. It’s not even that bad.

6 30 - 7 20 wake up, coffee, drive to school
7 40 - 8 study/read/do hw in the library
8 - 2 30 ap classes
2 30 - 3 coffee again, small snack
3 - 4 track and field/investment club (depends on the day)
4 - 5 ap german
5 - 6 30 drive home
6 30 - 6 50 shower
6 50 - 8 start hw
8 - 8 30 eat dinner
8 30 - until i finish all the hw stuffs

Man my senior year was…

6:45-Wake up
6:45-720-Eat breakfast/shower/get ready
7:20-Walk to school
8-2:25-School
2:45-6-Whatever I want
6-Dinner
6-10-Whatever i want
10-SLEEP

Never did homework or i did it during passing periods

Im pretty sure a person is supposed to get 8 hours of sleep in. It varies from person to person because of body chemistry, but the mean is around 8 hours (its basically just a rule of thumb). Some people can live just on 6 hours and be comfortable, other need 10 - that is acceptable, but I don’t see how some of you can possibly do less than that its simply inhuman…

I personally get more than 8 hours, I have trouble sleeping a lot and sometimes wake up in the middle of the night. But thats just me. I just think you are depriving yourselves - im betting you have to drink a lot of coffee too.

My typical school year schedule can vary a lot, but I will give the general gist:

5:30-5:50: Hit the snooze alarm continuously

5:50-5:55: Realize I kept hitting the snooze alarm and I am now running late

5:55-6:30: Wake-up, shower, get dressed, etc.

6:30-6:40: Ride to school

6:40-7:00: Go to locker, maybe eat breakfast if I didn’t earlier in the caf

7:00-12:00: School

12:00-4:30: Lunch in the yearbook room, yearbook period, yearbook after school

4:30-6:00: Either go home and procrastinate by “prioritizing my papers and homework” OR completely avoiding it by staying in yearbook

6:00-9:00: Either dinner and homework at home OR Yearbook late night where I type up my essays when the advisor isn’t looking

9:00-10:30: Assuming it isn’t a yearbook deadline week, I am at home doing homework while watching TV, chatting on ichat and facebook, and uploading pictures t flickr

10:30-10:45: Get ready for bed

10:45-11:00: A little more homework, Get in be

11:00-11:30: TV, Talk on the phone with my boyfriend, and go to sleep

Of course, other EC’s and activities break up some of the time after 12:00 but it isn’t worth mentioning.

To TheMan77:
Most people don’t have a choice. There is so much homework and so many EC’s on one’s plate that it is very difficult. Also, (this does not apply to me) I know many people who function on a little sleep during the week but catch up on the weekends

Yea,marie03, i know people who “catch-up” on sleep on the weekends too. I went to a competitive high school, so i know a lotta people who function on little sleep. Problem is- it doesn’t really work in class because many times they just fall asleep in class. Its gotten to be so much a problem in my high school.

Most of the time the students are intelligent enough to just self study the information in half the time the teacher attempts to teach it. But as i said its really not healthy, but it shows a great deal of sacrifice. I tried to pull that off my sophmore year and it didn’t go well >_<.
