Carnegie Mellon has what they refer to as the "preferred deadline to apply for financial aid" coming up in 2 days. Is this the end all be all date for financial aid at Carnegie or is there some other date that is non-preferred. If so, what does that even entail?

Let me google this for you…

It means that if your paperwork is not filed by the deadline, you will not receive any institutional aid. I recommend that you carefully read the information on their financial aid website and follow their directions.

Is Feb 15th a postmark deadline or does CMU need to physically have the files by Feb 15th? I submitted my FAFSA and CSS, but didn’t know that IDOC had to be mailed until the 14th, so I mailed them today (15th) at the post office. For Cornell University, it says that Feb 15th is the postmark deadline, but I don’t know about CMU.
