GPA and Test scores aside, what are the core similarities Haverford students share? I really enjoyed Haverford's Multicultural open house, and I appreciate their concept of an Honors program, but overall, what do they look for in a student that I can make sure to include in my essay?

The Haverford supplement will ask you to write an essay that relates to the honor code that guides so much of life at Haverford. Haverford is so tiny and somewhat unique in its reliance upon students to make mature decisions and govern themselves that admissions really cares about the “right fit.” From my own son’s experience, I would say that the school looks for students who are very bright, but not too self absorbed, service and community minded and those who are willing to take responsiblity for their own behavior and education. The students that I know who have been happy at Haverford are hard workers, very caring and accepting people and are willing to be open to the Quaker principles upon which the school is founded. I hope this helps at least a little. Oh, and I think the interview is a good place to let your true self and your values shine through. Good luck!
