What does it mean to get all the hard answers correct but all the easy ones wrong?

Yesterday i had to take a diagnostic test for my SAT prep class (parents are forcing me...) and you know what sucked? My results. On the score report, there were percentages of correct answers for each level of difficulty from 1 to 5, for each section. On every section, (except math of course) I had level 1 and 5 as being 100% but levels 2,3,4 were ranging around 70-80%. My tutor tells me that she's never seeen something like this. I get the hard questions correct but a majority of the easy ones wrong. What does that exactly mean? Silly mistakes?

Never heard bout this lol

You need to review the basics.

You need to pay more attention and be more careful when doing problems that you know.

Never heard bout this lol

Never has my SAT tutor. Apparently, Im the first out of many students that she has ever met and encountered this situation.

You need to review the basics.

I know that’s the problem. But how do i review something at the most basic level? To many students, this is common sense. Apparently, i don’t have any.
Books? any suggestion would be nice. Im so frustrated right now!!!

You probably make too many careless mistakes…

This means redo every problem when complete, from start to finish, separate from your original answer.

This implying of course that you have extra time at the end.

Okay, thanks.
Any more suggestions?

bump…

I think there are sample tests online, though I’m afraid I don’t have a link. Do the sample all over again and see if you get most of the easy ones right this time. It could have been carelessness, maybe subconscious as you probably would have noticed it had you been conscious of that…

Need I say it again?

wat did u say :open_mouth: ?

see post #11.
and rather than ‘silly’, i call them ‘stupid’ mistakes.
seriously, its one thing to get something wrong because you didnt know the answer, and another to get it wrong because you were stupid and
a) didnt read the question properly
b) didnt concentrate because you know its an easy question
c) both of the above.
let me tell you, once you get to a certain level of skill/knowledge, the hardest part of the SAT isnt the test itself, but trying to stay awake and focus for the whole test.

^ Agree. You may also be overthinking the question.

I am having the same problem. My suggestion is: Be careful. That’s all you need.

yup, be careful. and when you take a practice test and get one wrong, LEARN FULLY WHY IT IS WRONG. Don’t move on until you do.
