I just checked out my in depth score report for my SAT and for my math I did fairly well but the problem is I got 1 easy and 3 medium questions wrong from numbers and operations. That's like the easiest questions and I got it wrong. I've been having a problem about messing up the question, or like reading it wrong. How could I change this? I'm at the point where every point counts and need to get this right. 4 easy questions could've boosted my score up a lot, how can I improve?

I had a similar problem with missing easy questions when I was preparing for my SAT. On the actual test, I managed to not miss any questions in the math section. I think that the best way to avoid dumb mistakes is to do the problems carefully and slowly. If you can do a problem, tell yourself “I’ve got this,” and do it slowly. For not misreading questions, I found that the best way for me to avoid that was to read each question carefully at least twice before answering. In general, just stay slower and calmer when doing the test. If you finish all the questions before time is up, carefully (but still slowly) go through all the questions and check your answers. The key to not making careless mistakes is to be slow, calm, and careful.

Buy the blue book and do a lot of math practice exams. That way you’ll get faster and have time to check all your work to catch any stupid mistakes. Got an 800 doing this catching ~5 mistakes I made the first time through

You need to change how you read a question. If possible, stop and rewrite the question in your own words. Or, underline key words in the question to draw your attention to them. At the very least, make sure to read the question a second time, slowly, and making sure you understand all the elements the question is asking you to take into account.

Can someone tell me if I read the prompt wrong and wrote the esay wrong!! I’ll get no score in writing???
