I know that Notre Dame is a prestigious school, but what do they really look for in a candidate?
I have 30's for all parts of the ACT
Freshman year I took the AP human geography test and got a 4
Last year, I took the AP government test and also got a 4
This year I'll be taking AP environmental science, AP US history, and will probably get 4's or 5's on all of them.
I take as many challenging courses as I have been able to fit into my schedule that I know are within my abilities.
I have a 3.75 weighted GPA (3.4 unweighted) and reside in the top 20% of my class of 600.
I'm also in The National Honor Society, and The National German Honor Society. As well as FBLA (an academic business based extracurricular), the international studies program (language, history, and foreign language based academic extracurricular) and the sci-tech program (academic extracurricular based on science, technology, math, and engineering). Two of these require me to complete a project that can effect graduation. As a matter of fact, I present my junior year project after fall break for sci-tech.
I'm also in a few non academic, strictly fun extracurriculars: astronomy club, philosophy club, German club, and technology student association.
Last year I joined the National Society of High School Scholars.
I have some community service and will probably get more when my application is submitted at Children's Hospital. I'm also an active blood donor (kind of irrelevant, but I'll mention it anyways)
This summer, I'll be getting three college credits on rocketry, space transport, and other stuff about space. Next year, I'll be adding onto early college credits by taking a course in criminal justice which will fetch 1.5 credits. Also, I'll be in five AP classes next year: AP English literature, AP European history, AP German, AP statistics, and AP chemistry (going to be awesome).
Am I not Notre Dame material? I have worked diligently and have tried my best in all of my courses, if this isn't enough, what is and how can I assure my self a position in enrolment for the class of 2016?
