What does P-ton look for, as opposed to H & Y?

I recall reading on another thread that what Princeton looks for is different from what Harvard and Yale look for. How does it differ?

I think Yale REALLY goes after the URMs to an strong degree. Or so it seems that way. Harvard? Not sure.

yea. I would agree. I'm a URM and have recieved the most URM info in the mail from Yale. Not much from either harvard or pton.

They're all looking for the same student -- top scores and grades, challenging academic record, leadership, national or statewide recognition in academics and ECs. In recent years, though, P's admin has stated frequently that they seek to attract more URMs and more students with demonstrated talent in the arts.

all the Ivies want ppl who are URMs. it's worth so much.

Princeton made a big push this year for diversity and for kids with performing art talents. I will read my Alumni Weekly to see what they say for this year...

Me = doesn't really add diversity (Asian girl) + no performing art talents (but talent in science and leadership, I suppose)

sigh... rate my chances? (Another thread)

What are they looking for? Someone who won't choose Harvard or Yale over them. ;)

I kid I kid, Princeton is one of my dream schools.
