I’m interested in the Robertson Scholars program for UNC Chapel Hill, as far as I know it’s the only merit based scholarship program that I can apply for at UNC and if selected get full funding. (I’m an international student)
But I’m wondering if it’s worth applying because I don’t know if I have any chance with it. I never had any leadership positions at organizations or school, I never got to be a student leader or a sports team captain. I’ve been the robotics team captain once (grade 11 - we made to the provincials round) and I have a volunteer activity which was founded/led/organized by me.
Are these activities enough of “leadership” to apply and have a good chance with the Robertson Scholarship? If they’re looking for students with something like 4 years of student government, captain of every sports team they were in, leader of numerous volunteer projects that helped the entire community solve poverty issues or something then I won’t apply because it doesn’t apply to me.
If anyone is familiar with this program or is a student/alum of this please let me know! Thank you
I’m not familiar with this program. I would suggest you find the UNC Chapel Hill college board here on Col. Conf. and post this question to them. Best of luck!
Robertson is independent of both UNC and Duke admissions although both schools can nominate candidates to a semi finalist round. If you google it they have a fairly comprehensive website.
Please PM with specific questions as I am fairly familiar with it.
