What does UCLA Regents invitation mean in terms of Admission (Transfer)?

Hey guys,

So I got invited to compete for the Regents scholarship for UCLA and I was just wondering
what it means in regards to my chances of admission. Is it safe to assume I have a higher chance
especially because only selected applicants are selected to compete for this scholarship?

And I'm a transfer student from a CCC
Please let me know if you guys have any idea

Thanks

Well, you must have a fairly high GPA to qualify for it. What’s your major?

It’s usually a good sign, but it’s no guarantee of admission.

I’m a CS major and I have a 4.0

Usually it’s a good sign, but if you’re a CS major then don’t count too much on it.

last year, only 6 people got accepted for the CS major.

Like the other posters have said, you’re not automatically guaranteed admission. It could be a nice boost though?

Normally, Regents for UCLA is sent to the upper tier of transfers, and most applicants offered Regents get accepted just on statistics alone (high GPA). However, Regents have been rejected before.
