I want to have more options for my future than my parents do.
Not to mention that if I look back on high school and realize I didn’t do my best to get to the best place I could, then I’d be disappointed.
I also want to be the first person in my family to go to school out of the area, to break the mold. Not that I don’t love my family, but they are born in the same place, and stay in the same place.
Plus, with the area I live in, we don’t have a lot of high achieving students coming out of my school.
And, honestly, not being the best is okay with me. But I want to be among the best.

Passion. Intellectual interest and a desire for stimulation. And my mum. She had my brother at 17, was into drugs and working in gas stations and cleaning bathrooms and she put herself through college and law school and got into local politics for a while. She’s not smart (that’s from my dad) but she’s an intense lady.

failure.

(in fact, i think i only do my best when i fail. Yay for second attempts! xD

truestory. not kidding)

and also i guess sadness? when i need to distract myself i guess…

i know, sounds really depressing lol.

Self respect is very (most?) important too.

PS:also some movies/true stories/fiction ( even cartoons sometimes) are inspiring.

Yeah not going to lie, the arts often inspire me. I know it might seem naive to be inspired by your favourite (and completely fictional) TV show or movie, but if it drives you, who cares?

Well, for me, I guess it’s the thought that if I DON’T do well and get into a prestigious college, all my efforts in the past, not to mention my current dreams and aspirations will be crushed. Also, in such a school I am in now, where competition is a major part of our culture, if I don’t give it my all and showcase my talents, there’s really no point in me going there.
To put it in a nutshell, I guess it’s my fear of failure and my pride. haha.

The money and the life after.
No joke.

Sorry that does sound weird lol. It was actually a $5 “certificate” to our school store. Even worse actually…

My family, friends, peers. I think a lot of my motivation comes from people who doubt my capabilities and potential.

My dream of going to Ireland.
At the school I’m aiming for I would learn Ireland’s language, literature, history, culture, everything!
Then, after college, I would go and live there.

That’s what makes me it’s all worth.

Having been a Marine I often think of the current Marines and what they may be facing in whatever godforsaken hellhole that they may be in. Then whatever I think may be a tough situation or a problem probably isn’t in comparison to what they are facing. I then push on.

1) Competition - I like beating people, especially my sister, and giving past valedictorians a run for their money.
2) Make my parents - They’ve done a lot and sacrificed a lot for me, so i’d like to make them proud
3) Dreams - To further my dreams and to get where I want in life lol

Let’s get this Fall semester started! >=D
