I’m surprised that more people didn’t do apples and oranges. I thought that was going to be the most popular prompt.

I wrote on the orange and apple one too. I personified them a bit and made them go on a date… hope it works lol.

Mantis Shrimp

math, international studies, economics

fingers crossed for d-day

@crake is your username referencing oryx and crake?

Gaa that was such an interesting book. UChicago people are amazing.

@nerve it was awesome! i’m so glad to find people who’ve read it :)

She’s so brilliant! I loved Handmaid’s Tale, too. I really need to read Year of the Flood and Maddaddam, I just always get a bit worried that sequels aren’t going to live up

I’ve heard mixed reviews on the sequels. I think Handmaid’s Tale is my favorite of her books that I’ve read.

@ironchariot

Shhhhh… but I’m nothing like Crake.
Too many usernames are taken!

Edit:
Haven’t read Maddaddam; this whole senioritis and applications thing is death.

@crake lol awesome side note: if this is what my hopefully potential classmates are like, I can’t wait!

I used the joke prompt for my essay.

For majors, I put mathematics, computer science, and music.

The “You are and your” one. I wrote about marshmallows (believe me, it’s a lot more relevant than it seems).

Majors: Anthropology, Philosophy, Latin American Studies :D

I did “yo soy yo y mi…” and my “…” was “universo.” I am myself and my universe. It was all about physics and predestination. Anyone care to read? I’d love to read y’alls essays too!

Only two apples and oranges (myself being one of them). As I said earlier, I expected it to be a lot more popular. This makes me feel a bit better, knowing that I didn’t write for the overused prompt.

@Debater, I know in my school at least another guy wrote on orange and apple (brilliantly!), but otherwise it is relatively unpopular. I saw on a forum (which is quite popular in my country) tens of people voted on “which essay they wrote” and orange and apple is also the least chosen.

Are you from Japan, Doremi? or SK?

@International95: No, I’m from China (although I speak a little Korean ). :)

I chose apples and oranges! I wrote first paragraphs for a couple prompts, but my apples and oranges one just seemed to flow.

Majors: linguistics and the two English options. (I’m terrible at math, clearly.)

I wrote about history. I took a more serious tone, but I think it definitely showed my personality/what I’m interested in.

I’m hoping to major in history and minor in religion or Middle Eastern studies.
