What exactly is considered a "good GPA" at UW?

Just wondering.

Thanks.

Any less than that and you probably shouldn’t mention your GPA.

Is it hard to maintain a 3.8+ if in engineering and business? (double degree) This would include taking 16 credits per quarter, but no more.

Engineering is tough. I would say that anything >3.0 in engineering is “good” although you should go for a >3.5 if you can. With business, if you have anything LESS than a 3.5 then it’s hard to take you seriously as a student.

I have a 3.80 GPA doing EE and BA double degree. Its not all that difficult if you stay on track and don’t slack off to much in any if your classes

Depends on what your plans are after graduation. I’m trying to keep at least a 3.8 for getting into med school, but some people are higher, some lower.

Also, if you have a mediocre freshman year but have a great GPA for the rest of your time in college, obviously the lower GPA won’t be as looked down upon (assuming your transcript is looked at).
