If I were to say, apply for an engineering scholarship, and receive it, and then change my major how would this affect the scholarship?
ie would they simply stop funding me, or make me repay?
if it was a yearlong scholarship would i have to keep engineering as my declared major for the entire year to get the scholarship?
I know it's my own fault for being indecisive, but it's got to be somewhat common, hasn't it?

There is NO way any of us can answer that because EVERY school operates differently. If you are that concerned call or e-mail the financial aid office. Good luck.

Most schools don't release the major-specific scholarship funds until after that quarter or semester has begun, when they can verify the major. Change majors, and you'll not get funds the following quarter or semester. Not sure what happens if you change majors mid-quarter, after funds have been disbursed.

That was our experience with UCLA, at any rate.

being a potential (but not decided) engineering major, i have wondered the same thing. i havent really found an answer yet.

I have the same concern...though I plan on majoring in communications. Good luck! :)

Well.....I can't tell you about engineering, but if you receive a music performance scholarship and then switch your major to something other than music....you lose that scholarship.
