Yes, an update would be helpful!
Is this a situation of CC being hacked or is CC experimenting with a new format. Either way it is not a good thing>.
I think the system just got overloaded, actually. But I haven’t heard anything, either.
Why would an overloaded system change the notations on the threads…and things like “two new plural” instead of new posts? I totally see how the site could have been sluggish with a lot of users perhaps with ED things…but changes in the actual site? Um…no.
But glad it’s all working.
Seems to be two issues here, potentially. Traffic has been rising the past few weeks, though no sudden spikes like we see in late March. Not sure if the servers reached a certain maximum load. The site went offline earlier this month, though I don’t recall the specific reason given. I would have trouble believing the errors and “over capacity” messages are the result of the EA notifications, since we are still far below the March and April peaks. As for the odd behaviors, we have seen this on different occasions, often related to the release of new features from the vendor. In other cases, it has been a database error. I admittedly haven’t been around much this week, so hoping someone from the tech team can provide better insight and a prognosis going forward.
Thank you for your patience, as always!
Just sounds like a parallel universe, to me, while something is being fixed. We’re on channel B, so to say. Imo, this stuff can happen with any large database/multiple servers. Or maybe the weather in CA led to a problem or a proactive (temporary) change. And maybe that swap hangs on sw that does say “plural” or “recent discussions” instead of “latest posts.” Some of these are small aggravations. Otoh, at various points in recent days, I couldn’t access notifications or the search function.
And many of posters are heavy users, so we’re sensitive to all this.
^ Or just tired of it,
Yes, it wasn’t just a small aggravation like running slow. There were several times this week where the site was completely inaccessible.
