I went to an out of state university my first year. I struggled with my demons there and ended up failing a majority of my courses for both semesters. I thought it best to withdraw and attend my community college near home. My demons followed me there and it affected my studies there as well. I’m applying to my state university, and knowing that I have several poor academic performances under my belt will surely hurt my chances. What if I just not include my previous educational history?
I’m sorry, but they require it.
The best thing you can do is to own your situation, perhaps write about it in your essays. Good luck.
They will find your past through a clearing house. If you use your SS# anywhere there is nothing to hide.
but if i didnt put it in my application, would they know?
You have to send in transcripts from all universities you’ve attended. Otherwise your application is not complete.
No they will not know. They can kick you out at any time if they find out though. If you used any of your first classes to clear prerequisites at your second school there’s no hiding that you took them.
If you “omit” information, it will catch up with you, then the university makes the clearing house aware of your attempts to dodge information. Don’t do it; you will get caught. They don’t catch you right away, but you will get caught. My friend’s roommate was caught and was made to leave our college immediately. They red flagged her file, name, social security number, major, parent information, address, everything.
Have you been able to get your life under control yet? The demons that “followed” you from the OOS university to the cc will follow you to your state university and anywhere else you go until you handle them. Are you on academic suspension from the cc? I think the best way to start repairing your record is to chat with one of their advisors to find out what your options are. Good luck.
Also, if you are caught you are required to pay back all financial aid, including scholarships.
They don’t care about your starting over. You should contact the UCs and let them know.
If you ever used your social security number at a school they will find out.
Yes there are ways that they most probably will not find out but the ones I can think of is if you did some courses outside of the U.S.
