My kid’s in and wants to go. But you only get one four-year shot at college. She does not want to blow a ton of money only to be remote-learning from home; it seems better to spend a year working and then attend in 2021. Nobody wants to pay for wine and end up with juice.
Obviously there’s some sort of contract involved, but I can’t find any information about it.
I called and they didn’t know. We would suppose that in the case of remote learning next fall, we would be asked to pay full tuition but no payment for housing or meals. Our strategy is to commit now with our deposit and make the final decision before we write a check for the semester. It is very unlikely that we would pay full tuition for remote learning if that is the case so we are working out alternative plans.
As all classes have moved online this semester and registering for classes begins, professors have been very transparent with the plans of moving forward for next semester:
Unfortunately, there is no real clear answer.
From what I was told as of yesterday in one of my online classes, the preparation and budget cuts are starting to happen if the decision is to be made for our fall semester to be online. With that being said, there may be a likelihood of Fall 2020 being online, and Spring 2021 being in person.
The decision does not necessarily mean it is final. There really is a likelihood of it going either online, or in person, it all just depends on the spread of the virus and severity.
