What historical moment or event do you wish you could have witnessed?

Woodstock heh.

I put Buddha reaching Nirvana under the Bodhi Tree. After telling my friend about this, she noted that I now looked like I was an asian applying to Stanford…I laughed at first, but then realized how right she was :/

I think that Buddha reaching Nirvana under the Bodhi Tree is a great answer, I doubt that anyone else wrote that

i said the signing of hte Camp David Accords

I like military history so I put Qin’s unification of China. It lasted a decade. Do you think it’s too long?

Either Helen Keller speaking her first word, or the first word being spoken (ever). I am interested in speech/ linguistics and think that they would both be interesting and inspirational.

@Aschenbach

No, not at all. I put the 1099 Siege of Jerusalem.

Were we supposed to include an explanation with this or just the event?

I just said the event!

Here’s what I put
“The premier of Handel’s “Messiah” on April 13, 1742 in Dublin- My high school’s symphony orchestras and choirs perform at our “Messiah” concert every year. Performing Handel is always an incredibly powerful experience. I can only imagine how profound the first performance must have been.”

I said Michelangelo painting the sistine chapel.

A variety of Pop Art movements, but I focused on Japanese Pop Art.

the big bang; seems like I missed the mark :$

my daughter wrote MLK march on Washington, and I had a dream speech- August 28,1963

Keep in mind when you answer this question what it is the school is looking to learn. Again, as stated many times in these threads, the schools ask these questions to learn about “you”. So don’t answer this question with some unique event that you think they will be impressed with. Answer it honestly because the event you want to witness ties into the person you are.

I wrote when the world had internet.

D: Looking at what everyone put so far, I think I screwed myself over.

The moment my mom and dad met, since they won’t tell me!!

It’s nothing serious/impressive, but it’s honest and personal, so hopefully that’s okay :)

I wrote about the moon landing, which apparently is a pretty popular choice. :frowning: Hopefully the way I explained it will serve to make my response a little more unique:

One small step for man.

“We were born too soon to explore the cosmos, and too late to explore the earth.” ~Unattributed. There is a niche in the human psyche fulfilled only
by exploration. I wish I could witness the first manned moon landing, a leap toward taking man to the stars.

I have been thinking about this prompt a lot actually.
Would it be weird/bad to do something about being able to see my great-grandmother work her magic to turn curtains into a dress (for my mom) that was a perfect fit when she lived states away?
I never knew my great grandmother (she had alzheimers when I was born and passed soon after) but I’m always told I’m a lot like her.

Construction of the pyramids ;)
