The Stanford supplement asks, "What historical moment or event do you wish you could have witnessed?"

What did you all put? Should it be witty? Is it necessary to "fit" with the rest of the application, i.e. reitirate a theme in an essay or related to the chosen major? Or am I just overthinking this? Any advice is appreciated :D

You’re overthinking it. Put what historical moment or event do you wish you could have witnessed. Don’t go googling things to say, searching for witty things, etc. Just put what you wished you could have been there for.

This is coming from a guy that really overthought (past tense of overthink, or am I overthinking this?) the question, but returned to a historical period I enjoy reading about.

What moment in History do you read/hear/research/watch about and your like, “Man I wish I was alive to see that!” May be its something as quirky as the discovery of popcorn or as significant as the end of WWII. Whatever it is, it should be genuine because this questions are meant to show your personality. And assuming you like your personality, you should not try and hide it.

On the other hand if you do not like your personality… :D
