What holiday presents are you asking for?

I’m struggling this year. I want a particular kind of stuff for the shower, some nail polish, and some See’s Toffee Ettes candy.
Husband got me an “expensive” bike helmet I picked out.
We like restaurant GCs and wine.
We have agreed with some relatives to do donations instead of presents to each other.

All I really want is to be with my immediate family for the holiday.

If my husband happens to book a trip to a warm location or buy a nice piece of jewelry I won’t object…but who am I kidding.

All I want is to have our son home for Christmas again but askin’ ain’t gittin’. It’s been three years. Won’t happen again this year as he’s deployed. We’ve decided to pass on Christmas. I think DH will put up the tree, but no presents.

We’re asking for United to stay on time as they fly S in from the west coast and D in from the east coast.

Nothing else. That will do.

You can just ask to be made happy and kind

Hugs and kisses (and I’m not referring to Hershey’s).

I’m definitely hoping one of my sons is here for Christmas. I’m giving it about 50/50 right now.
If my other son showed, it would be a “Christmas miracle.” (He barely talks to me and I haven’t seen him in a year and a half).

Great food and festive times with family.

…maybe some DVDs or Blu Ray movies, books, socks. (can’t believe I said “socks” lol)

I honestly don’t need anything, and I have trouble coming up with wants. Maybe a couple tops (I will ask D for those, because she has great taste). I’ll need to think of something to tell S that I want. That will be tough enough, so I will be out of ideas when it comes to H & MIL asking for ideas.

I want for nothing these days but good health for me & my family. That will be a delightful gift.

I want new sewing machine but I’m going to have to buy it for myself. I would also like a huge room just for me and my fabrics, with shelves from floor to ceiling for all my fabric, and a cutting table made to size for me.

Not likely to happen.

I am expecting the tickets for my 2019 trip to Hawaii to be in my stocking. If they aren’t there, I’m finding a tour and going alone.

My 2020 gift was central AC…I’m expecting that to materialize also.

Otherwise…someone is going to get coal in their stocking.

A new kitchen faucet is really all I want or need

H will buy even if I tell him not to so…

A “Love your Melon” beanie
Some warm winter slippers
Collapsible water bottle

We quit exchanging gifts years ago. We do little things in stockings, and I will buy a jigsaw puzzle for us to work together while ds is here. I do still buy for ds - usually practical things/clothing he needs.

Ds surprised us last year with a Skylight frame. If you don’t have a digital photo frame and are having a hard time thinking of what someone could buy you, I will suggest that as an option because we have enjoyed ours very much.

Skylight frame looks interesting. So. you just plug it into a wall outlet?

My mom has a skylight her grandchildren gave her – it’s pretty effortless, she literally just plugs it in. Hers runs for hours, and the skylight will remind people if they havent sent photos in a while. We have been very pleased.

H and I don’t give each other gifts. We prefer to use money for travel, so just get something we need/want and consider that our gift. One vehicle needs tires, so maybe we’ll consider those our Christmas gift to ourselves. The kids don’t always think to get us anything, which is fine. We’ll probably just give them checks and candy in their stocking.

If I were to ask for something it would be a nice 2 cup measuring cup. I have 1 cup and 4 cup, but got used to using a 2 cup when the kids lived with us during Covid. When they moved they had the nerve to take their measuring cup with them.

You might want to look at this angled style next time you are in a kitchen department. I first saw at a cooking demo, liked how you can look a fill level from above (or from the side). I only have the 1/4c myself but gifted that size (nice stocking stuffer) a few bigger ones that year.

Yes, I like those where you can look from the top. FIL has them at his places and they’re very convenient. I want one in glass though. We prefer glass to plastic for all things “food.”
